SIP WORTHY

Shoes ne bhi complan piya?

What’s Sipping? ☕ Childhood friends Satyajit Mittal and Krutika Lal conducted primary research on children and their shoes and found that kids between the ages of 0-3 years grow three to four sizes in a year, while one in three children wear shoes that do not fit properly. This is because children’s feet grow in small increments while shoe sizes increase in bigger sizes.

Remember when Mumma bought big shoes? [Like a 2 yr plan]

Shoes generally don’t fit, when you were much smaller, because you wear the shoe if it works. Except you are given shoes that are a size or two too big.

“We wanted to find a solution to this glaring problem and reimagine the kids’ footwear industry. We put our minds together and developed a patented technology that allows shoes to grow with the child, ” says Satyajit Mittal, CEO, and Co-founder, of Aretto.

Aretto comes from the Greek word Arete.

Arete… sounds unique ri8?

What does it mean? Arete is the goddess of excellence in Greek mythology, and the founders believe that this represents their drive to make versatile products.

Early Investment: “The name Aretto was chosen to embody the spirit of excellence and growth,” Mittal says. Initially, the founders invested $100,000 to launch the startup.

No More Growing Pains

Due to the usage of “insole, upper, and sole technology,” the Pune-based D2C startup creates podiatrist-approved shoes for children that are 360-degree flexible, breathable, adaptive in size, and stretch up to three sizes.

Aretto Leaps was the brand’s debut product. The mid-top shoes are curvaceous and lively. “The key impact we have generated is lowering the number of SKUs from 15 to 5 sizes, each growing up to 18 mm, postponing obsolescence,” Mittal explains. Shoes are available in nine styles, five sizes, and four categories, with costs ranging from Rs 1,699 to Rs 2,899.

How the shoe works

According to the founders, Aretto uses a mix of three technologies to develop a shoe that can adjust to a child’s natural foot growth and provide a decent fit.

  1. SuperGrooves™ helps adapt to the “millimetric growth of children’s feet”.

  2. Aretto Squishy Foam™, a soft memory foam insole, reduces pressure on feet and makes the shoes comfortable.

  3. The upper body of the shoe is crafted from InfiKnit™, a 3D-knitted stretchable, durable fabric that offers flexibility and breathability.

This implies that any shoe allows for three size changes without the need for personal intervention, ensuring comfort and the proper fit for growing feet. According to the founders, they are eco-friendly, have a threefold longer life cycle, and aid in cognitive growth.

“Our focus was on the sole, which was carefully designed with the right form, flexibility, and grip to allow kids to play and explore without limitations,” Mittal says.

The Patent Office of the Government of India has granted the corporation a utility patent for the sole technology.

IMPROVEMENT SIP

Use this 3-step framework to set boundaries.

[Step 1]: Build Self-Worth with Affirmations

Affirmations can help you gain confidence, like these…

  1. I am worthy of love and respect, and I choose to surround myself with people who uplift and support me.

  2. My worth is not determined by external factors such as my job or accomplishments. I am valuable simply by existing.

  3. I trust in my abilities and I am proud of who I am. I embrace my strengths and weaknesses, knowing that they make me unique and special.

[Step 2]: Define Your Boundaries

Make it clear what you will not accept.

Establish your boundaries based on your previous experiences, and add new ones as they arise.

[Step 3]: Enforce Your Boundaries

Change it, leave it, or accept it.
