☕ Good morning! Sippers,

Do you remember the iconic Hutch advertisement with the energetic pug following a young boy around a picturesque landscape? This ad is an excellent example of the power of effective brand building.

In today’s digital age, marketers are constantly searching for ways to capture audience attention and gauge users’ emotional response. This is where Entropik comes in – a Bengaluru-based market research company that helps businesses understand consumer preferences and how to drive customer-centric experiences.

Entropik’s unique selling point lies in its AI-powered tools that enable research, marketing, and product teams to conduct in-house quantitative and qualitative research. Its consumer research tools use proprietary technologies such as Facial Coding, AI-Enabled Eye Tracking, and Voice AI technology to cover qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral analytics. For example, Facial Coding helps track real-time emotional reactions to ads, videos, and other visual stimuli, while the eye tracker analyzes specific areas of interest to capture various visual metrics.

Entropik has more than 150 global clients across sectors such as telecom, BFSI, media, CPG, FMCG, and entertainment. Operating as a B2B Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, Entropik claims to have achieved 7X growth over the past 18 months. About 70% of Entropik’s revenue comes from the United States and Europe, while the rest is generated from India and Southeast Asia.

Entropik’s CEO, Ranjan Kumar, was inspired to create the emotionally intelligent consumer research platform because he realized that brands spend more time creating advertisements than incorporating consumer feedback and ensuring that their content resonates with users at an emotional level. Entropik’s platform offers subconscious insights through emotion recognition technology, which goes beyond surveys, focus groups, and interviews to understand consumers’ conscious and subconscious behavior.

In the past, Kumar co-founded other startups Red Castle, and online ticket booking platform OyeParty. Looking ahead, Entropik aims to set a new goal of tripling its growth in the next 18 months. With more than 20,000 apps tested globally, Entropik is sitting on a huge repository of user behavioral data that they aim to leverage for predictive analysis.

As marketers, it is essential to capture the emotions of our audience and create content that resonates with them on a subconscious level. Entropik is an excellent tool that helps businesses achieve just that. We hope this issue provides you with actionable insights on how to leverage technology to create emotionally engaging experiences for your audience.

The Price of Good Habits: Investing in the Present for a Better Future

Developing good habits is often seen as the key to success in personal and professional life. Good habits can lead to better health, productivity, and financial stability. However, while it may be easy to see the benefits of good habits, it is also important to understand the costs that come with them. According to the quote, “The costs of your good habits are in the present. The costs of your bad habits are in the future.”

This quote suggests that good habits require a certain amount of effort and sacrifice in the present. For example, if someone wants to achieve better health, they may need to invest time and energy into exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet. Similarly, if someone wants to be financially stable, they may need to save money and live within their means. These actions require discipline and can be challenging at the moment.

On the other hand, bad habits may provide short-term benefits but can have negative consequences in the future. For instance, someone who smokes cigarettes may feel a temporary sense of relief, but over time, they increase their risk of developing serious health problems. Likewise, someone who spends money recklessly may experience immediate gratification but may find themselves in financial trouble down the line.

Several case studies illustrate the impact of good and bad habits on people’s lives. For instance, research shows that people who exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet are less likely to develop chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. In contrast, studies have also found that people who smoke or consume excessive amounts of alcohol have a higher risk of developing cancer and liver disease.

In terms of financial habits, a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that people who save money early in life tend to be more financially stable in the long run. In contrast, people who accumulate debt in their 20s and 30s tend to have lower net worth and financial insecurity later in life.

It is essential to consider the costs of both good and bad habits and make conscious choices about how we live our lives.

India’s Oscar Hopes Soar: Can ‘Naatu Naatu’, ‘All That Breathes’, and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ Make Waves?

India is gearing up for perhaps its biggest moment on the global stage at the 95th Academy Awards, with three productions in the running for Oscars. “Naatu Naatu,” the hit dance track from RRR, “All That Breathes,” and “The Elephant Whisperers” have all been nominated in different categories.

The ceremony, to be held early Monday morning (India time) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, has generated a lot of buzz in India, with fans hoping that the nominations translate into Oscar wins. However, India is set to make its presence felt on stage, with several notable personalities taking part in the event.

Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravani and singers Rahul Sipligunj-Kaala Bhairava are set to perform live on stage, giving the song a platform in true Academy tradition. Additionally, actor Deepika Padukone will present an award at the ceremony, which has tried to be more inclusive over the years.

RRR lead stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR and director S S Rajamouli will be in the audience, cheering for the team. Naatu Naatu, which also won a Golden Globe, is an award-season sensation in Hollywood, recalling the wave created by A R Rahman’s “Jai Ho” from “Slumdog Millionaire.”

The last Indian film to make it to the final five nominees at the Oscars was Ashutosh Gowariker’s “Lagaan” in 2001. “Mother India” and “Salaam Bombay” are the only other two Indian films to have made it to the top five, besides Deepa Mehta’s “Water,” which was a Canadian entry.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for India’s nominees, and hoping for a successful night at the Academy Awards.
