Are AI coaches the wave of the future?

What’s Sipping? ☕The pandemic has accelerated the need for advanced data collection and analysis tools for athletes and coaches, resulting in the development of more sophisticated sports tech. This technology now goes beyond wearables and uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve various aspects of sports.

Game On: How COVID-19 Pushed Sports from the Field to the Virtual Arena

Sports can be divided into four categories: learn, play, watch, and wear.

Learning has traditionally occurred through either one-on-one training sessions with a coach, mentor, or instructor or through team activities. Those without access to teams or pickup games frequently perfect their abilities at home or in a community center gym, using whatever tools they can find.

Playing can range from simple pick-up games with neighbors to amateur and professional leagues. Athletes and supporters are both eligible for the “watch” and “wear” categories. We’re talking about attending athletic events, watching live streams, participating in fantasy leagues, wearing team jerseys, and buying sports equipment here.

AR-VR impact:

Because of AR and VR technologies, as well as the expanding popularity of AI and Web3, there is a tremendous trend toward digitalization in all four categories.

Athletes may now practice more effectively with AI instructors. ChatGPT is used by apps like Level Up to produce useful, accessible AI coaching, and artificial intelligence analytics solutions like Athlete’s AI provide improved performance analysis for more effective training.

Does Better AI mean better athletes?

AI and machine learning have been utilized by professional coaches and leagues to improve training and player performance. With the increased availability of AI tech, amateur athletes and school-level coaches can now leverage this technology to enhance their practices and analyze player data.

Augmented reality is an exciting new tool that can help athletes, especially those who have to train alone, by overlaying objects such as computer-generated players onto a real-world court or field.

AR applications blend data into real-world environments or pre-recorded recordings, enabling players and coaches to understand play styles, movement patterns, and potential faults in real time. VR and AR overlays can also be used by amateur leagues and coaches to analyze other teams’ footage and develop stronger defensive strategies.

Finally: Web3 is still in its early phases of development, yet it is already broadening our imaginations and pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible.

The applications of AI, ML, and Web3 technologies such as blockchain and the metaverse in sports technology are practically endless. Team sports are becoming more digital and thrilling than ever, whether you are a passionate sports viewer, an amateur player, or a professional prospect.

Bill Belichick, the head coach of the New England Patriots, is unlikely to be replaced by AI in the near future. While AI has shown potential in a variety of areas, the complexity of human decision-making in sports makes it impossible for AI to totally replace coaches. Furthermore, the human element of coaching, such as communication, leadership, and motivation, is an important factor that AI may not be able to fully reproduce.

India’s EV Revolution: Massive Rs 34 Trillion Lithium Discovery Set to Fuel Growth

What just happened? In Jammu and Kashmir, the Geological Survey of India recently announced the discovery of 5.9 million tonnes of lithium. It is worth a stunning INR34 trillion at current lithium pricing.

Resources vs Reserves: To begin, a “resource” is an estimated amount of a geological commodity in discovered and undiscovered deposits, whereas “reserves” are a subset of resources that may be extracted economically.

High Grade: According to India’s mining secretary, the lithium found in Jammu and Kashmir is of excellent quality, with a grade of 500 ppm, as opposed to the normal grade of 200 ppm. The mining concession is evaluated using the United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC), a three-dimensional approach that takes geological, feasibility, and economic variables into account.

The global electric vehicle (EV) market is expanding rapidly, with sales increasing by 60% to 10.4 million units in CY2022, representing 13% of total vehicles sold. China dominated with 60% (6.2 million) of total EV sales, followed by North America with 1.1 million units sold (50% increase) and Europe with 2.6 million units sold (11% increase). As India searches for the best production method, the EV market continues to grow.

Lithium batteries (LiBs) power EVs, with a demand of 473 GWh in 2022. By 2030, LiB demand is predicted to exceed 4 TWh. EV batteries generally employ two chemistries: lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (LNMCO) (NMC). LFP batteries are more robust and heat-resistant, but take up more space, whereas NMC batteries are smaller but less heat-resistant. LFP batteries are 30% less expensive.

What’s for India?

We face three significant challenges in the EV ecosystem:

  • Insufficient raw material availability.

  • Unreliable power networks.

  • Delayed entry into the technology sector.

Today, India imports LiON cells (LG’s Ola, Ather, and TVS; China’s Hero and Ampere; and Panasonic NSE’s Bajaj and Tata Motors). Cell assembly is done by battery manufacturers all around the world. However, in India, they are imported either in-house (by Ather and Ola) or by a third party (for Bajaj, TVS and Tata).

The sophisticated battery management systems, as well as the motor and control components, are also imported (TVS and Bajaj buy from Bosch, which imports these; Ather builds them).

Potential: The Indian government is supporting EV development through production incentives and end-product subsidies under the FAME India Phase-II plan. Despite this, the cost of EVs in India remains higher than traditional automobiles, and the shift to EVs will cause major disruption in the global automotive industry. However, EV adoption is inevitable due to significant investments, though the specifics remain uncertain. India can become a significant player in the EV industry if it can quickly convert its recent lithium discovery into production.

Get Aid Soon: While Damascus controls the majority of Syria, the majority of the north is controlled by several and occasionally opposing organizations. The majority of deaths happened in areas controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which has stated unequivocally that it will not allow the Assad administration to “take advantage.”

Dry dating: Meeting up for drinks has always been the most popular date choice for couples. However, more GenZ and Indian millennials are increasingly adopting ‘mindful drinking’, ‘sober curiosity’, and ‘alcohol-free dry dates’, according to a survey by Bumble.

It’s Interesting: The world’s oldest wooden wheel has been around for more than 5,000 years. It was discovered in 2002, some 12 miles south of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital, and is now housed in the city’s museum. The wheel’s age was determined by radiocarbon dating, which ranges between 5,100 and 5,350 years.
